Collina dei Ciliegi
La Collina dei Ciliegi was founded in Erbin, a small village in Valpantena nestled in the hills north of Verona, where the landscape alternates between high-altitude vineyards, cherry trees, meadows and woods that climb towards the Lessini Mountains Park. The company was developed around an idea that is both simple and ambitious: to live and produce in harmony with nature, combining vision, sensitivity and determination. In 2017, Massimo Gianolli and Christian Roger met Lydia and Claude Bourguignon, two of the world's leading soil experts, and embarked on a journey to study and enhance the highest altitudes of Valpantena, with the aim of transforming them into true crus.
The productive heart of La Collina dei Ciliegi lies at an altitude of around 700 metres, among the highest vineyards in the entire Valpantena. Here, the grapes ripen up to a month later than in the valley below, thanks to significant temperature variations and constant air currents. Each plot has been mapped and studied through core sampling and in-depth analysis of the calcareous-clay soils, in order to adapt planting density, variety and exposure to the characteristics of the terrain. Viticulture is precision-based, high-density, with low yields and an agronomic approach that prioritises soil vitality. Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, but also Garganega, Pinot Bianco and Chardonnay find an expressive context here that is unprecedented for Valpantena.
In the glass, La Collina dei Ciliegi wines offer a vertical and luminous interpretation of the territory, where freshness, tension and aromatic depth coexist in perfect balance. The whites surprise with their clarity, mineral precision and acidic verve, while the reds combine tannic finesse and juiciness, without ever sacrificing a marked territorial imprint. They are high-altitude wines, sculpted by air and light, which interpret Valpantena with contemporary elegance and a strong identity.
