Domaine des Hardières
Domaine des Hardières is a family-run artisanal winery located in the Loire Valley, where through a spontaneous and genuine style it aims to give voice to the territory of Val-du-Layon. The estate overlooks the Layon River, a tributary of the Loire, a few kilometers south of the city of Angers.
The 23 hectares of vineyard area available to Domaine des Hardières are planted on well-drained hilly soils, predominantly composed of schist. The abundant presence of this rock helps to preserve the warmth of the soil, promoting root activity and thus the proper ripening of the grapes. The vines, averaging about 30 years old, also benefit from excellent exposures and a microclimate characterized by sunny afternoons and frequent morning fogs in Autumn. With these pedoclimatic ingredients, the estate cultivates Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon in accordance with the principles of organic farming, certified since 2019. In this perspective, the use of any chemical inputs is excluded, in order to preserve the health of the soil, plants, and the environment in general, while favoring the most authentic expression of the territory. The production of the Domaine des Hardières winery consists of white and red wines, as well as a recently introduced rosé, all characterized by a beautiful character and a notable typicity, released under the generic AOC Anjou. Common qualities across the range are vibrant freshness and a fine mineral imprint.
