Domaine des Freres

The labels of Domaine des Frères are bottled plot by plot. Each cuvée bears the name of its terroir and shows how the same Cabernet Franc changes character from sand to flint, from limestone to clay. Fermentations start with indigenous yeasts in concrete tanks. The aging continues in concrete or used Burgundy fût, with an additional resting period in glass and sulfur dosed case by case and with restraint. The result is bottles with beautiful freshness, fine tannins, and clear fruit, pleasant in youth but capable of evolving over time: a new voice of Chinon, already noted by the Revue du Vin de France.
compacting the soil, they primarily work with a light quad instead of a tractor. The topping is limited to one annual intervention, allowing the vine to retain more leaves and benefit photosynthesis. The harvest is manual and begins before dawn to bring fresh, intact bunches to the winery.
