Els Vinyerons

Els Vinyerons is a Spanish winery located in Sant Martí Sarroca, near Vilafranca del Penedès. The area is situated south of Barcelona, in the hilly inland of Sitges. The winery was founded by Amós and Alex, two winemakers united by their passion for good wine, who decided to share their experiences and strengths to embark together on a new adventure. At the heart of the initiative is the desire to create wines that can express the character of the terroir in a direct and authentic way, trying to intervene as little as possible in all phases of the production process, from the vineyard to the winery, so as to allow the grapes to express themselves in the most natural and simple way possible.

Els Vinyerons is a winery committed to the search for a natural wine, even though the definition is very controversial and generic. The philosophy of the winery can be summed up in two fundamental concepts: to work by trying to limit human intervention to the bare minimum, only to guide the grapes towards their transformation into wine and not add sulfites to ensure the absolute purity of the wine. According to the two winemakers, the wines must be the simple and direct expression of the vineyard. The centrality of the vine has led Amós and Alex to a work focused on selecting local grape varieties, capable of transferring the authentic peculiarities of the territory into the glass.

The choice of vineyards has been made with great care, primarily selecting old vines historically located in the most suitable areas, which, thanks to a deep interaction with the territory, are able to enhance its character. Today, the estate has several parcels located in the areas of Vilafranca del Penedès, La Munia, Font Rubí, Pacs, and Sant Martí Sarroca, each with absolutely unique characteristics. The management of the vineyards is obviously conducted with the utmost respect for nature and the environmental ecosystem, following the principles of organic farming. The climate is Mediterranean, with hot and dry summers, refreshed only by the presence of sea breezes, which rise inland. Among the rows, Xarell is primarily cultivated, one of the typical varieties of Cava, but which in reality is also capable of producing still wines of great charm and personality.
