Emendis
Emendis is a winery located in the beating heart of the Spanish region of Penedès. We are situated within Catalonia, in the south of Spain, in an area that has always proven to be strongly suited for viticulture. In fact, there are testimonies of the presence of vines in these areas dating back to the fourth century BC, a historical moment when the Phoenicians resided in these territories. In this geographical and historical context, we encounter the Emendis winery, a production reality perfectly integrated with nature and the surrounding environment. One of the cornerstones of Emendis's philosophy and approach, both in the vineyard and in the winery, is represented by the desire to enhance the fruit of the season and the past vintage in the vineyard, allowing each harvest to bring its own characteristics. An authentic and territorial orientation, which can be found in each of the bottles created.
The winery's vineyards extend over a planted area of about 48 hectares. The terroir is characterized by the presence of limestone and magnesium, components that contribute to giving freshness and acidity to every cultivated variety. Among the rows, there are several indigenous grape varieties, such as Macabeo, Xarel-lo, Parellada, Marselan, and Monastrell, alternated with international grapes, with Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Pinot Noir being the most notable. The vines grow benefiting from a particular microclimate, influenced by the proximity to the sea. In the vineyard, where yields are kept low, the work follows the principles of integrated viticulture, paying particular attention to green pruning. The harvest is always preceded by precise chemical analyses, essential for understanding the perfect moment to begin the collection of the bunches.
Every year, Emendis produces an interesting range of wines, where, alongside whites, reds, and rosés, we also find a wide selection of sparkling wines. The Spanish “Cava,” produced according to the production guidelines of the Metodo Classico, are presented with different labels and allow for a selection that is more than suitable to fully understand what this
type can offer in the glass.Emendis is a winery located in the beating heart of the Spanish region of Penedès.
