Falmet

Nathalie Falmet is a family-owned Maison located in Rouvres-les-vignes, in the Côte de Bar. After studying chemistry in Paris and obtaining a degree in oenology in Reims, Nathalie Falmet decided to fully dedicate herself to viticulture, taking the reins of the small family estate. The domaine covers 3.4 hectares and consists of several parcels, all situated in highly suitable areas of the territory. Nathalie competently and passionately fulfills both the role of winemaker and oenologist, overseeing the entire production process, from vineyard to cellar. In the countryside, the principles of sustainable agriculture certified HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale) are applied, respecting nature and seeking to minimize treatments.

The Côte de Bar area is the southernmost part of the Champagne region. The climate is milder and sunnier, and the soils are of a clay-limestone matrix. These are ancient soils formed during the upper Kimmeridgian period, more similar to those of Chablis than to those of the Côte de Blancs. It is a territory particularly suited for the cultivation of Pinot Noir, with which Blancs de Noirs are produced that express excellent quality levels, and Chardonnay which yields wines of remarkable richness and aromatic intensity. The philosophy of the maison is oriented towards the production of pure and genuine wines, capable of directly expressing the characteristics of the terroir and the savoir-faire inherited from previous generations. These are Champagnes for connoisseurs and enthusiasts, in search of small productions, far from the standard taste of the labels of large Maisons.

The range offered by Nathalie Falmet is the synthesis of a series of elements that together contribute to the success of her wines: terroir, minerality, soil and subsoil, grape variety, winemaking techniques, and the vintage. The cuvées have an elegant and refined profile and are made with long aging on the lees and very low dosage, which enhance the exceptional quality and ripeness of the grapes. Thanks to this balance, the Champagnes manage to combine harmonious and complex aromas with a vein of fresh and clear minerality.
