Fourcadet-Daviaud Vineyard

The Vignobles Fourcadet-Daviaud is an interesting family-run reality that has been cultivating vines in Graves for four generations, south of the Haut Médoc area, in the heart of the Bordeaux region. Faithful to ancient traditions, the domaine continues to passionately perpetuate the culture of the territory and produce great wines that authentically express the characteristics of a legendary place. The property covers a total of 22 hectares. As usual, 20 hectares are dedicated to the classic red grape varieties of the area, first and foremost Merlot, followed by Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Malbec. A small part of the estate, about 2 hectares, is reserved for the cultivation of white grapes that have been present in Bordeaux for centuries: Sauvignon blanc and Sauvignon gris.

The vineyards of the domaine are managed with great care and attention, applying the principles of cultivation that aim for minimal treatment use, allowing for a perfect balance with the environmental context. Positively influenced by the presence of the estuaryof the Gironde and the Atlantic Ocean, the climate is mild, always well-ventilated, and with good temperature excursions between day and night. The soils are of ancient alluvial origin, very draining due to the abundant presence of pebbles and resting on a substrate of clay and limestone. The soils have always proven to be very suited for the cultivation of red grape varieties, which express themselves at very high qualitative levels.

Almost all harvests are carried out manually, and healthy and perfectly intact bunches arrive in the winery. The vinifications take place in a traditional manner. After fermentation, the wines are clarified, stabilized, and then sent for aging, which for the reds takes place traditionally in French oak barriques. The range of wines offers interesting labels: Bordeaux rouge Savarias du Château la Mazette, Bordeaux Supérieur Rouge Château la Mazette,Château Vieux Croze, Cuvée Prestige JPF, Bordeaux Blanc Château la Mazette, Intensément Blanc, Bordeaux Rosé Château la Mazette, Pastelle de la Mazette, and Crémant de Bordeaux Château la Mazette Blanc and Château la Mazette Rosé. All wines of great character, elegance, and personality.
