GinAro
GinAro is the creation of Luca Scaroni, a young man from Brescia who, not fully convinced of his future career as an engineer, decided to pursue a passion by creating gin with a sincere and original soul, just like his own. Indeed, his love for the world of spirits drove him to create his own project after spending time in Australia and Asia working as a bartender. Once back home with a wealth of experience, Luca founded a craft alchemy workshop called “La Bottega di Aro,” inspired by the nickname his friends use to call him. It took a few years of study, research, and experimentation in the fields of infusions, blends, and macerations for Aro to refine his technique and create his first gin. The name GinAro comes from the combination of the terms Gin and Aro, symbolizing the personal character of his creations.
The gins of GinAro – La Bottega di Aro are crafted from a careful selection of botanicals sourced from Europe and Asia. It is about of herbs, roots, and spices such as juniper, licorice, rosemary, cardamom, ginger, and cumin. The extraction of most ingredients occurs cold, while the others are distilled hot. Usually, the gins are bottled without any aging period, except for the GinAro Invecchiato, which spends a year in oak barrels, a process that results in greater complexity and smoothness. In the preparation of his amaro, Luca also uses other ingredients such as coffee, star anise, and lemon, while the Vermouth is made from red wine of Marzemino grapes, flavored with various botanicals and reinforced with a touch of GinAro. Finally, the BittAro originates from a combination of lemon, sage, gentian, and rhubarb.
