Gueli

The Gueli winery is an interesting wine reality of the Agrigentino. It was founded in 1986 by Vincenzo Gueli in the countryside of Grotte, near the Valley of the Temples. Today it is managed with enthusiasm and expertise by his sons Giuseppe, Calogero, and Davide.

The Gueli vineyard extends over 10 hectares at an altitude between 450 and 550 meters above sea level. The Gueli family decided to focus on Nero d’Avola, planting it on different types of soils to represent all the nuances and characteristics of the territory. On one side, the “Trubi”, white soils with little skeleton but rich in minerals, give the wine great structure. On the other, the “Calcari della Scintilia”, rich in calcium, stony, and fertile, provide the wine with freshness and drinkability. The vines are trained in a pergola system, which protects the bunches from strong summer sunlight. Only organic fertilizers and leguminous cover crops are used for cultivation, and excess irrigation is avoided. The goal is to allow the plants to mature according to the natural balance.

Gueli produces aromatic wines of great quality, balanced yet complex, wines that are a true reflection of the territory.
