I Sabbioni

I Sabbioni is a very interesting reality that, in addition to wine production, is also dedicated to the cultivation and breeding of olive trees for the production of oil. Located among the first hills stretching between Forlì and Faenza, the winery takes its name from the particular conformation of the territory, made up of the "sabbioni", yellow sands that, geologically, are a testament to how this part of Emilia Romagna was, until just under a million years ago, entirely covered by the sea. I Sabbioni is a winery that has embraced a territorial philosophy, so much so that within its vineyards only Sangiovese is cultivated, from which fleshy labels are born, ranging from simpler and fruitier expressions to more complex and layered versions. A line of products in which drinkability, energy, and integrity of the primary aromas provide a pleasant drinking experience, ideal for accompanying various dishes of Italian and international cuisine.

The vineyards of the I Sabbioni winery are characterized by being cultivated only and exclusively with a red grape variety that, within the terroir of Emilia-Romagna, finds one of its natural habitats, Sangiovese. The vines are cultivated at an altitude ranging from 70 to 150 meters above sea level, on a moderately sloping terroir, composed mainly of red clays and yellow sands. The climate is continental, and the high planting densities, combined with the proximity of the clusters to the ground and the use of traditional training methods, make this environment particularly suited for the cultivation of Sangiovese grapes. Pruning in the vineyard is strictly manual, as are the harvesting operations, in which the grapes are selected with extreme care by the winery team, ensuring that only the best are chosen. The winemaking choices are guided by the idea of accommodating each individual plot where Sangiovese is cultivated, thus imparting a territorial imprint to each label.

From the walls of the I Sabbioni winery, every year four labels are released, each telling its own personal relationship, made of aromas and flavors, with Sangiovese, the protagonist grape of the entire range. A special mention goes to the Sangiovese di Romagna "Oriolo", a gem to be savored until the last drop.
