La Grapperie

The Domaine La Grapperie is a small and precious production reality located in the Loire Valley, more precisely in Bueil-en-Touraine, a municipality in the Touraine wine region. At the helm of the winery is Renaud Guettier, a young and passionate vigneron who started this project in 2004 with just half a hectare of vineyard. In the following years, Renaud committed himself to recovering old abandoned vineyards, aware of the qualitative potential that these plants were capable of developing. Indeed, he himself states: "sometimes when I find them, they are simply old bushes long forgotten, but they have enormous potential and add extraordinary vigor and concentration to my wines". The beautiful cellar carved into the limestone rock is the ideal environment for the aging of the wines, which benefit from constant and optimal temperature and humidity values.

The agronomic management is based on certified organic and biodynamic agriculture, and in the soil work, Renaud uses the help of a horse to avoid excessively compacting the soil, thus preserving its structure and fertility. Pineau d’Aunis for reds and Chenin Blanc for whites represent the main varieties cultivated by the Domaine, alongside smaller percentages of Cot and Gamay. The harvests are done by hand, and the winemaking approach is based on minimal intervention, excluding the use of any enological additives and not resorting to clarifications or filtrations.
