La Vecchia Ivrea is a craft brewery located in the town of the same name in Canavese. As often happens in these cases, it all started from the initiative of two friends, who decided to take the big leap and transform their home brewing for personal use into a real entrepreneurial activity.

In 2012, two great beer enthusiasts, Alessio Merlo and Mauro Bettinelli, decided it was time to get serious and dedicate themselves, body and soul, to the world of malt and hops. From the very first experiments, the results were very encouraging, thanks to a deep knowledge of the sector, the production processes, and a great attention to raw materials. After a few months, the activity began as a brewfirm, entrusted to an important Piedmontese brewery.Piedmontese and in the summer of 2013, the real activity began at the headquarters in Ivrea. The careful selection of the best malts, the choice of top-quality hops, and a meticulous care of every phase of processing quickly brought the brewery to national prominence with excellent quality beers.

The work of Alessio and Mauro does not go unnoticed, and in 2018 the brewery was awarded as Artisan Excellence of Piedmont. The following year, it received the National Award for High Gastronomy Mario Soldati, marking a path of constant growth. From the single beer produced in 2012, today La Vecchia Ivrea offers the market 9 labels, which, drawing on the most well-known international models, are revisited with ingredients from the territory and a touch of personal creativity. All beers have a name or feature a reference to the production area on the label, to reinforce the strong link of typicity with the lands of Canavese. The beers are produced with extreme care and artisanal passion, without pasteurization processes, filtration,without using additives or preservatives, precisely to guarantee a natural taste and an expressive integrity that conveys the authentic style of the brewery.
