Nestled among the verdant hills of Monferrato, and to be precise in the small town of Vinchio, is the Laiolo Reginin winery, founded by Guido Laiolo in 1943, who already 70 years ago was playing with his father's barrels, entertaining friends and customers who passed by in search of the typical Barbera. The decades-long tradition has led Guido to bottle typical expressions of the Asti area that are mainly characterized by great passion, a quality that the Laiolo family has always dedicated to its vineyards, thus creating authentic and sincere bottles of the highest convivial pleasantness.

It happens, however, in 1999 that the reins of Laiolo Reginin pass into the hands of Paolo, Guido's son, who, animated by the same love for the territory that has always distinguished his father's activity, begins a new era for the winery: first of all, the agricultural practices in the vineyard are rethought to reach high levels of sustainability, through a total exclusion of herbicides and desiccants. In their 7 hectares of vineyard, GMO vines are also banned and all grapes are harvesyed by hand, leading to the creation of labels that fully reflect their terroir, thanks in part to the nature of its soils composed of yellow sands, tufa and clays, that make the setting naturally and perfectly suited to sustainable viticulture. Even in the winery, all processes follow these philosophies, conveying fermentations only through indigenous yeasts already present on the grapes and eliminating all kinds of chemical corrections.

Thus, thanks to these processes, the Laiolo Reginin winery's bottles are faithful expressions to Monferrato, with a juicy and convivial personality such as the Barbera "Da Sul," a rustic and intensely satisfying interpretation aged in tonneaux. But also like "L'Intruso," a Grignolino of great elegance that grows in a wine area to which it does not traditionally belong (as the name suggests, meaning "the stranger" in Italian), but that nonetheless is extremely appreciated like all Paolo Laiolo's wines, that share a purely satisfying drinkability.
