Lisini

The Lisini winery represents a historic wine-growing reality of Montalcino, engaged since 1750 in the production of wines that speak of this noble territory in the province of Siena. Precisely located in the Sant’Angelo in Colle district, in the south-western area of the Montalcino region, the estate has always been managed by the Lisini-Clementi family, who have been credited with preserving the established wine traditions of the Ilcinese over the centuries. In 1967, Lisini founded the Consortium of Brunello di Montalcino along with 24 other estates, and the then owner, Elina Lisini, served as president for a certain period. Today, the management of the winery is in the hands of the grandchildren Carlo, Lorenzo, and Ludovica, heirs of a long line of producers.

The Lisini estate comprises as much as 154 hectares of property, of which 24 are reserved for vines and the remaining part occupied by woods and olive groves. The vineyards, entirely dedicated to Sangiovese Grosso, the flagship variety of the territory, rest on fresh and porous soils of Eocene origin located at an average altitude of 350 meters above sea level.of the sea. Furthermore, the area benefits from the concurrent influence of Mount Amiata and the not-so-distant Tyrrhenian Sea, which with its marine currents dries and mitigates the microclimate. The agronomic management excludes any forcing practices, with the aim of bringing healthy and high-quality bunches to the winery, and the harvest is carried out by hand with careful selection of the grapes. The winemaking approach takes up traditional techniques, while not disregarding the contribution of modern processing methods. In this perspective, for vinification, vitrified concrete tanks or steel tanks are adopted, while aging takes place in large Slavonian oak barrels.

The selection of the Lisini winery is exclusively focused on the wines of the territory, such as Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino, witnesses of the history of the estate and its connection to tradition. In particular, within the range stands out the Brunello di Montalcino ‘Ugolaia’, made from grapes harvested from the eponymous vineyard exposed to the southwest.
