Domaine Louis Fleurot is a historic Burgundy estate, located in the prestigious town of Nuits-Saint-Georges. It was founded in 1810, but for years its main activity was "tonnellerie", i.e. the manual construction of oak barrels. Subsequent generations have steadily expanded wine production, and today only barrels of the highest quality are made for the winery, without being marketed. A family of coopers by trade, in French "tonnelier", has thus over time become a benchmark for excellent Burgundian red wines.
The Louis Fleurot winery, still in family hands, is considered one of the historic realities of Nuits-Saint-Georges, with vineyards spread over 12 different AOC appellations, including Nuits-Saint-Geroges and Vosne-Romanée. On these parcels, Pinot Noir achieves a quality that is unique in the world, resulting in highly prestigious, elegant labels. Owner Denis Bazart is personally responsible for agronomic and oenological management, drawing on a long family tradition that he has used to his advantage to distinguish himself on the French scene with a strong territorial imprint.
Louis Fleurot wines are characterized by an elegant and subtle aromatic complexity, which not only gives depth to the wine, but also makes it refined, pleasant and drinkable. Pleasant fruitiness combines with a touch of spice and undergrowth to produce a harmonious taste that reveals the perfect interplay between terroir suitability, agronomic management, skilful oenological practices and the masterful use of wood for aging. The artisanal spirit of a family of barrel growers is thus expressed in wines that embody the ancestral, artisanal spirit of Burgundy, capable of exciting and inspiring wine lovers the world over.
