Carpineti Marco
Marco Carpineti is one of those producers who have managed to achieve good success while remaining firmly tied to traditional production methods and the territory of origin, which in this case corresponds to the slopes of the Monti Lepini, in the municipality of Cori, in the southern inland of the Lazio region, bordering on Ciociaria. The origins of this production adventure date back to 1986, when Marco took the reins of the family land and, driven by a sincere passion for nature, transformed the farm into a model winery. Starting from 1994, he embraced organic farming methods, eliminating chemical fertilizers and synthetic products from his vineyards and following a path of environmental sustainability and quality improvement that continues to this day, which has slowly led him to an agricultural approach close to biodynamics.
The vineyards of Marco Carpineti, now helped by his children Paolo and Isabella, extend in the areas of Capolemole, Pezzi di Ninfa, and Valli San Pietro, rooted in volcanic soils and exposed to the south and southwest. This terroir is extraordinarily suited to viticulture not only from a pedoclimatic point of view, thanks to the proximity of both the mountains and the sea, but also for the rich heritage of production traditions concerning some native grape varieties: Bellone, Nero Buono and Greco Moro. Marco has immediately bet everything on these typical grape varieties of the area, investing everything to present them in their traditional form but also to reinterpret them with sparkling production according to the Metodo Classico. Alongside these typical grape varieties of the Cori area, Cesanese and Montepulciano are also cultivated.
The wines of Marco Carpineti are the result of a long journey of recovering tradition, environmental sustainability, and enhancing the typical grape varieties of the Cori area. They are born from a long way back but have an elegant and modern appearance. The goal of this winery to remain faithful to the terroir does not translate into extremist proclamations or fundamentalist choices but into a clear territorial imprint that knows how to be updated, modern, and youthful, characterized by an extraordinary pleasantness of drink.
