The biodynamic winery Masiero located in Veneto is actively engaged in the authentic extrinsicisation of a territory, a territory made up of land, people and tradition. It all began almost as a game in the early 2000s, when Franco Masiero planted the first rows of vines in the hamlet of Selva, in the municipality of Trissino, driven by the bond with this land and the encounter with passionate winegrowers. With the support of his wife Francesca, and since 2015 his daughter Giulia, Franco began a period of study and experimentation that led to the birth in 2007 of Merlot 'Verdugo', dedicated to his father Andrea. Masiero is a member of VinNatur, an association that brings together more than 180 producers united by a desire to work with respect for wine, people and the environment.

The mere 5 hectares of vineyards cared for by the Masiero family rest on limestone and volcanic soils and are farmed organically, certified since 2017, and biodynamically. The Masiero family's entire commitment is aimed at safeguarding biodiversity and the ecosystem in general, with particular regard to the land, which has been exploited and impoverished by conventional agriculture for too long. With this in mind, in 2016 Franco joined the three-year 'biological soil fertility' project, aimed at studying soil vitality in order to preserve and improve its biological fertility. Among the black grape varieties, the estate grows Merlot, Tai Rosso, Cabernet Franc and Pinot Noir, while the white grapes include Garganega, Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay. Harvesting is carried out by hand and cellar operations aim to avoid any alteration of the integrity and expressiveness of the fruit. According to this philosophy, fermentation takes place spontaneously, without the use of selected yeasts, temperature control or sulphur dioxide. Furthermore, during the entire process the masses do not undergo any clarification or filtration.

The Masiero winery's range of labels includes bottle-fermented wines, orange wines and reds with a pure and unadulterated charm, far removed from sophistication and standardisation.
