The Matsui Whisky labels are produced by the renowned Kurayoshi Distillery, located in the Tottori prefecture, not far from Kyoto. The distillery is is located at the foot of Mount Daisen, in a region of green, lush, and unspoiled nature, which provides an ultra-pure and crystal-clear water, flowing down from the mountains and made even lighter by passing through volcanic rocks. The climate, characterized by significant temperature variations, promotes a rather rapid maturation of the distillates, with the development of very elegant and refined tertiary aromas. Great attention is given to the selection of woods for aging the distillates, among the best varieties of Japanese oak and cherry, as well as old barrels previously used for aging fine wines or for the fortified wines of Jerez de la Frontera.
