Mazzetti d'Altavilla is a historic distillery from Piemonte, producing a range of grappas, gin, and excellent quality liqueurs. The origins of the company are very ancient. The Mazzetti family started its activity in 1846, founding a small distillery in Montemagno for the production of grappa. Its location in the heart of the Monferrato region has always allowed it to rely on an abundant supply of raw materials of excellent quality, thanks to the presence of numerous estates and wineries in the area, not only from Monferrato but also from Canavese, Langhe, and Roero. In the early 1900s, the distillery was moved to Altavilla Monferrato, to a larger facility. After 170 years of history, the Distilleria Mazzetti d'Altavilla is managed by Cesare, Nicoletta, and Giorgio, who represent the sixth generation and carry on the ancient traditions with passion and expertise.

The distillery has always been deeply connected to the Monferrato territory and the best local traditions. The activity of Mazzetti d'Altavilla was born, in fact, within a context that has always been linked to wine culture. The gentle hills of Monferrato have been one of the most vocated areas in the region for vine cultivation for centuries, particularly for historically present grape varieties in the territory, such as Moscato Bianco, Barbera, Dolcetto, and Brachetto. The presence of numerous wineries has always allowed for an excellent quality pomace supply almost at zero kilometers, ensuring an abundant availability of raw materials.

The territorial proximity between wineries and the distillery has been, and still represents today, a strong point of Mazzetti d'Altavilla. The presence of many wineries allows for the selection of the best pomace, which is collected immediately after fermentation and transferred to the distillery still fresh and rich in scents and aromas. The processing takes place in a short time, with a distillation process carried out in steam copper stills using a discontinuous method. The careful and rigorous processing allows for the production of distillates of extraordinary purity expressive., which are often aged in wood, in order to offer grappas with a soft and seductive profile, with a complex and rich taste.
