Mediterraneo

The Gin Mediterraneo was born in Tuscany in 2015 through the initiative of Tommaso Gamurrini. A great enthusiast of this ancient distillate, in his spare time he managed a small venue in Arezzo with some partners.  Always more fascinated by the world of spirits, he decides to leave the monotony of a quiet job to embark on a new adventure. Despite many economic difficulties, Tommaso continues to think and plan what was supposed to become his new job. He begins to search both in Italy and abroad for a distiller willing to collaborate on his Gin, which had now taken shape and transformed into a true recipe ready to be realized.

In 2018, he travels to London to Thames Distillers. He presents his project to the famous Master Distiller Charles Maxwell, who is fascinated and declares himself available to start realizing this new label. The Gin Mediterraneo could finally move from paper to bottle. Thus begins production at the London distillery, and in 2019 the first 3500 bottles of Gin Mediterraneo arrive in Arezzo, ready to be marketed. The Gin has a very fresh, intense, and refined aroma. It is a London Dry Gin characterized mainly by fragrant citrus notes, delicate floral hints, medicinal herbs, aromatic herbs from the Mediterranean scrub, and licorice root. Dry and linear, it has a clear sip and is very elegant.

Its secret lies mainly in a harmonious blend of botanicals carefully selected to return the atmospheres, scents, and aromas characteristic of the Mediterranean coasts. At its base is excellent juniper from Arezzo. Since the 17th century, when the Gin trend spread throughout Europe, the search for the best juniper berries was unleashed. Tuscany stood out for the quality of its Juniperus Communis, which grew spontaneously in the mountainous areas of Valtiberina and in the woods of Casentino. The juniper used for Gin Mediterraneo comes from the ancient juniper groves of the Camaldoli monks. The mix of herbs is then completed with angelica, orange peel, coriander, cardamom, lavender, and licorice.
