Mongioia
Mongioia is a family-run winery with roots in Piemonte, in a special area known for Moscato production. An aromatic grape variety with which, since the beginning of its activity in 1998, Mongioia has decided to engage with soul and passion, dedicating the entire cultivable area of its vineyards to it and always aiming for excellence. Today, at the helm of the winery, we find Riccardo, a representative of the sixth generation of the family involved in viticulture, who, after inheriting the baton from his father Marco following his graduation from the enological school in Alba, decided to combine the solid points of ancient traditions with an innovative outlook, expanding the range of products made and giving life to various new expressions of Moscato. The aim is always the same, that is to create spontaneous wines that respect the territory of origin but also present themselves with modernity and new interpretations.
The vineyards owned by the Mongioia winery extend over a cultivated area of 10 hectares, entirely dedicated to the protagonist grape variety.of the company range, the Moscato Bianco. The vines of this aromatic variety have an ancient history, and the vineyards in which they grow are indeed among the oldest in the denomination, with an age ranging from 90 to 170 years, thus presenting plants that are still on their own roots. Among the rows, the work is carried out in full respect of the environment and the surrounding nature, following practices that refer to organic farming. In the winery, in light of the choice to dedicate itself exclusively to a single grape variety, extreme importance is given to the vinification of the individual plots, with the idea of enhancing the characteristics and peculiarities of each cru.
Mongioia is a small winery that every year manages, despite its small size, to ensure a good production of bottles, divided into seven different labels. Obviously, the absolute protagonist is the Moscato, expressed in different forms, which also includes the two most recent products created by Riccardo, the vintage Classic Methods “Meramentae.” A range that will makemore than happy the enthusiasts of this grape variety, which fascinates starting from the “Belb,” the perfect label to begin approaching the bottles signed by Mongioia.
