Mura winery, founded in 1979 by Filippo Mura, has its headquarters in the town of Loiri Porto San Paolo, a few kilometers away from Olbia. The resort, beautiful and charming, is located in the middle of a valley where flows the river La Castagna and enjoys a microclimate perfect for the cultivation of vines. The soil derived from the weathering of granite, is a mixed structure between sand and clay, with the presence of quartzite, ideal for the cultivation of grapes. This land was cultivated initially with cereals, with very modest results, but towards the end of the ‘80 Filippo Mura has the intuition to change kind of cultivation to exploit its peculiarities and he decides to implanted the first vines. The great adventure has begun and Filippo and his family devote themselves with great enthusiasm: the first results are very encouraging and the wines produced immediately a lot of success. The grape varieties grown are the classic ones of Sardinia: Vermentino, Canonau and Bovale Sardo. Many years have passed since then, today the management of the winery passed to the sons of Filippo, who continue with great passion the work begun by his father: the wines have incredible aromatic strength and a vibrant dynamic on the palate. In particular, the two selections of Vermentino , the Cheremi and Sienda, regularly end up at the top of Sardinian oenology.
