Officine Vitae
Officine Vitae represents an example of excellence within the Sicilian wine scene. It was founded in 2014 by 5 friends from very different backgrounds but united by a deep passion for good wine and a strong belief that they could produce a quality product by focusing on Sicilian native grape varieties. In a short time, the winery has developed a diverse range of labels capable of satisfying even the most demanding palates.
The vineyards of the farmers and suppliers of Officine Vitae form a mosaic of terroir that extends in the municipality of Marsala, also reaching the municipalities of Trapani and Mazara del Vallo. The territories of Marsala, having an extremely rich and heterogeneous conformation, boast a historic and extraordinary vocation for viticulture. In the seaside vineyards, the incessant sea breeze helps reduce summer heat by eliminating humidity stagnation and thus preventing the development of molds; in the valley vineyards, the presence of humus and calcium gives strength to the red grapes, Nero d’Avola and Syrah, and aromaticity to the white grapes, Grillo and Catarratto. The heavy winter rains and strong summer temperature fluctuations ensure optimal ripening of the grapes. The production philosophy of Officine Vitae is firmly linked to tradition and oriented towards respect for nature, based on the premise that quality cannot accept compromises. Hence the choice to prioritize organic farming, not only minimizing the use of synthetic chemicals but also rediscovering fundamental values such as genuineness and the relationship with the land.
