Pacherhof estate is located in Neustift, near Varna, in the heart of a lush and fairy-tale landscape near Bressanone, about which many stories have been told as far back as the Middle Ages. In fact, the history of Pacherof farm starts in 1142 and was written in all its shades of wine by its owners, the Huber family, first by the father Josef and then, today, by the son Andreas. The passion for wine is a tradition here that is expressed through the desire of making new discoveries: while the father was one of the pioneers of viticulture in Eisack valley, the son is converting the company to biodynamic cultivation. What distinguishes the crafts at the roots of Pacherhof wines is giving voice to the terroir and its most colorful details: enjoying a steep southern exposure, the eight hectares of the estate are in the best locations, the most northern of Italy, in the land of sand, shingle and gravel, rich in minerals. The hard microclimates of the area shape the refined character of these wines, subjecting the vineyards to cold nights and warm days, being often windy, giving to the fruity bouquet of white South Tyrolean wines an unmistakable enhanced flavor elegance. Under the direction of the winemaker Andreas, the pressing takes place in the cellar of the farm: gently squeezed, the grapes are kept in large barrels or stainless steel tanks. The rest lasts up to ten months, and then go in for bottles. The centuries-old passion of the Huber family becomes a fragrant expression of the Eisacktal terroir, creating such a valuable white wines.
