Pian del Pino
Pian del Pino is a small reality in Tuscany that produces authentic and artisanal wines, true picturesque portraits of the Valdarno. In fact, more than a winery, this is the story of a family dedicated to the world of viticulture, which began its adventure in the fields in 1953 when grandfather Giovanni bought 15 hectares at the foot of the Pratomagno massif. We are located in the Chianti area, straddling the provinces of Arezzo and Florence, where the winery embraces the nature reserve of Valle d’Inferno, where the impetuous Arno River once flowed. The site for winemaking and aging operations is located in the ancient medieval village of Campogialli, just a few steps from the fields.

In fact, Giovanni, strong from the biodynamic studies of Steiner andthose of Howard, takes care of and cultivates the plants with an extraordinary sensitivity, respecting all the cyclical processes of nature and prohibiting any form of chemical intervention. He claims that the nourishment of the plants is provided by the manure of the horses he raises and that the defense of the vines is guaranteed by the grazing of sheep during the winter period. A well-studied and in-depth position, as demonstrated by the detailed biological information provided on his website. After all, the artisan is one who works with awareness and passion, and Giovanni knows this well.

The soil, rich in clays, hosts the typical varieties of Tuscan tradition: Sangiovese above all, then Colorino del Valdarno, Canaiolo, Trebbiano, Malvasia Nera, and Merlot, the latter in purity also produces an extraordinary sweet passito. The vines are cradled throughout the year by the gentle breezes blowing from the west, which favor, along with
