Possente was born in Salaparuta, in the heart of western Sicily. It is a family-run agricultural reality that has its roots in tradition. It was founded by Antonio, Maria, and Stefania, children of knowledge passed down from their father, a tradition of understanding and passion. Possente, with 37 hectares of vineyards spread over micro-plots with different morphologies and microclimates, celebrates the Sicilian territory and its biodiversity with its wines. An essential value for restoring the identity of the hands that work the land is, for the company, the idea of family.
Possente is a winery that works with artisanal care. The work in the vineyard focuses heavily on respect for the environment, and great attention is paid to the organic cultivation of the vineyards. Every intervention in the vineyard and winery aims to enhance the integrity of the grapes and the varietal typicity. The processes are largely carried out manually, from harvesting to selecting the bunches, in accordance with the rhythms of the vintage and the natural cycles. In the winery, operations seek to limit technological intervention, in order to keep intact the organoleptic characteristics of the grape. In search of sincere and identity-driven wines.
Possente wines aim to be the living reflection of their terroir: expressive, balanced, capable of combining aromatic intensity and tasting finesse and able to restore the great diversity of the Sicilian territory. The whites are produced from Grillo, Catarratto, and Zibibbo, grape varieties that communicate Sicilian identity with their pronounced Mediterranean character. The reds play between freshness, intensity, warmth, and fruit, a balance that Nero d’Avola and Syrah manage to achieve excellently.
