Secondo Marco
The Secondo Marco winery is one of the most interesting realities in Valpolicella. It was founded in 2008 by Marco Speri, who coming from one of the historic families of the area, was able to rely on an important wealth of experience. As often happens in these cases, the new generations wish, on one hand, to carry on the ancient family traditions and on the other to seek a path that allows them to express a new vision of wine. Marco Speri's work both in the vineyard and in the winery represents this tension between respect for traditions and the search for innovation very well. Starting from the past without denying it, but rather enhancing its positive aspects, he has managed to bring a breath of novelty to the world of Valpolicella with wines characterized by a strong personality and a refined and elegant profile.
potential. The territory occupies the hilly area between the city of Verona and Lake Garda, bordered to the north by the presence of the Lessini Mountains. The climate is temperate and always very breezy, thanks to the winds that descend from the north and the mild breezes from the lake. The sunny exposures and good temperature excursions favor excellent ripening of the grapes. The soils are quite heterogeneous, but fundamentally present a calcareous matrix and have proven particularly suitable for the native red grape varieties historically present in these lands: Corvina, Corvinone, Molinara, Rondinella, and Oseleta.

Tradition focused on the Veronese pergola, which was later supplanted over time by modern Guyot systems.
