Nowadays, San Michele Appiano is considered one of the most important names in Alto Adige, a real guarantee for wine lovers from the region and beyond, thanks to its strong ability to make the most of the character of its terroir. Founded in 1907, this cooperative winery has been able to carve out a leading role for itself in the Italian wine world year after year. Hans Terzer, enologist of the Cantina dei Produttori (Winegrowers' Winery) of San Michele Appiano since 1978, has the great merit of having directed the production of the winery towards high quality, focusing his work on the attention to every detail with a perfect combination of the value of tradition and the importance of innovation.

Today, San Michele Appiano is passionately dedicated to producing great white and red wines, the perfect synthesis of this fantastic terroir that allows the cultivation of several great grape varieties. The winemaking cooperative brings together around 340 winegrowing families in various locations on the outskirts of Bolzano. The vineyards cover a total of 380 hectares in territories with different characteristics, mostly in the municipality of Appiano. Production, which is led entirely by Kellermeister Hans Terzer, is organised through the study and development of each individual vineyard. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, with ageing also taking place in large oak casks or barriques.

Regardless of the bottle you choose, San Michele Appiano will ensure that your wine glass contains an important part of the history of Alto Adige, a wine produced with the passion and expertise that only a great producer can offer. St. Michael Eppan, as the cooperative is called in German, has carved out a leading role for itself in the region's wine scene, making a name for itself throughout the world as a local guarantee of excellence and elegance.
