Stella del Filare
Stella del Filare was born in Provezze, a small hamlet of Provaglio d'Iseo, in the heart of Franciacorta. Luigi Picotti is the mind behind this project, with a past that is anything but ordinary: a musician who moved to Brooklyn to pursue a dream in the underground, still brings that creative spirit into every bottle he produces. The vineyards are located in two distinct crus: a true clos, enclosed by an ancient stone wall where Pinot Noir resides and a small plot dedicated to Chardonnay, right near the house.
The soils around the Stella del Filare estate are the silent soul of its bubbles. Deep morainic composition rich in flint, with red and clayey soils: a perfect recipe to give the grapes a rare mineral tension. The wooded hills to the north, with Monte Cognolo standing sentinel at 672 meters, ensure thermal excursion and constant ventilation, precious during the hours of dawn and dusk. The vines are all trained to unilateral Guyot, a choice aimed at the highest quality.

There is a red thread that runs through the entire production: the minerality of flint in the soils, the electric freshness given by the thermal excursion, a tension that never leaves the sip. These are essential wines, built by subtraction, where every superfluous element has been removed to give space to the vineyard and its voice.
