Strano

Strano is the name of a small family-run winery located in Sardinia, in the Gallura area, more precisely in Berchidda, in the province of Otranto. It is here that Gianluca Strano, helped in management by his father Salvatore and his mother Elisa, after graduating and having held various unexciting jobs, decided to start bringing his dream to life, that of creating the best Vermentino in all of Sardinia. An ambitious goal that led him to search for the perfect vineyard to invest his efforts and financial resources, identifying a small plot at the foot of Monte Limbara as the ideal place to begin the transformation from dream to reality.

The vineyards of the Strano winery are located near Monte Limbara, on the south-facing side of a hill positioned about 340 meters above sea level. Obviously, the grape that plays the leading role is Vermentino, which roots itself in a soil derived from granitic disintegration, rich in skeleton and sand and poor in clay components.clay. The rows of vines follow an east-west orientation, in order to ensure the best exposure and brightness conditions, while avoiding direct exposure to sunlight. The climate is mainly temperate, characterized by a breeze that allows for excellent humidity levels, with a temperature range between day and night that ensures the bunches have a beautiful aromaticity, noticeable in the final product. In the vineyard, every operation is aimed at obtaining grapes of the best possible quality, which are then preserved in the winemaking process, carried out entirely in steel.

The Strano winery currently has only one arrow in its quiver, represented by this much-desired Vermentino di Gallura Superiore DOCG by Gianluca. A mineral, fresh wine, the result of the strong bond between grape variety and territory, which gives rise to a distinctive label. It is on this single product that, to date, the winery's efforts are focused, aiming to achieve the goal of positioning itself among the reference producers atregional level for this type.
