Tenuta La Piccola, owned by Fontana family since the sixties, is located in the heart of Emilia, between Reggio Emilia and Parma; the 25 hectares of vineyards are located on the banks of the river Enza, at an altitude of 105 meters and enjoy of climatic and geological optimal conditions for the cultivation of grapes. The varietal characteristic of this area is the Lambrusco Picol Ross, from which we get the 'namesake famous bubbly and fragrant red wine, in which the Company has added a careful selection of international varieties. In the nineties, the owner Licinio Fontana, after a few trips in Burgundy, Tuscany and South Tyrol, decided to turn the company, enabling strict manufacturing parameters that combine technological innovation with traditional methods, in order to produce wines that give priority to quality over quantity. It's 'a young and dynamic staff, full of enthusiasm, led by the young winemaker Giulio Davoli, the one on which he is now entrusted with the organization of the Company which, however, not possible to disregard from the precious collaboration of talented winemakers and men of great experience in vineyard.
