Tenuta Liliana
Tenuta Liliana was founded in 2017 from the vision of Antonio and Liliana Intiglietta, originally from Puglia and Milanese by adoption, who decided to return to their Salento roots. The company spans 13 hectares in Parabita, in the hinterland of Gallipoli, where they plant almost exclusively Cabernet Sauvignon on ideal soils. Antonio and Liliana, entrepreneurs in the exhibition sector, wanted to create a large-scale project that would contribute to the international recognition of Puglia among the great wine regions of the world.
Tenuta Liliana manages five vineyards distributed within a radius of 5 kilometers from the winery that express different terroirs: from the Vigna di Specchia with rocky substrate rich in clay and iron, to the silty and sandy soils of Mitriano in Alezio, up to the balanced parcels of Rischiazzi where the ancient Puglian bush vine has been reintroduced. The production philosophy of Tenuta Liliana combines traditional wisdom with an active look towards the future. The vineyards are managed organically and protected by almond trees that sprout between the rows, characterized by spontaneous cover crops. The winery, built in a former tuff quarry active until to the 1960s, is a work of contemporary architecture that combines polished concrete and mirrored glass with the warm natural tuff underneath. The technical team has selected three clones of Cabernet Sauvignon capable of producing wines of great finesse, after careful experimentation with the French nurseryman Pier Marie Guillaume. The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand and vinified with the utmost care using state-of-the-art steel tanks, trapezoidal concrete tanks, and French barriques.
The wines of Salento from Tenuta Liliana express this territory of Southern Italy. The Cabernet Sauvignon is a ‘unicum’, thanks to the Mediterranean climate characterized by scorching summers mitigated by constant winds and reduced rainfall. Each parcel that makes up the final blend contributes its own nuances, to create truly unique wines, with a keen eye on the territory and the future.
