Terra della Luna
Terra della Luna is located in the Colli di Luni area and produces artisan wines inspired by the oldest traditions of the territory. The winery was founded in 2006 and manages an estate in Ortonovo, in the province of La Spezia. The vineyards are situated on a plot of about three hectares, called "Pezzo grande", which was already famous in the 19th century for the wine "Bianc Bon", produced by the Carrara family Fabbricotti. The Luni area, home to an ancient Roman trading post, has been known for viticulture since antiquity. The Apennine ridge protects the area from disturbances coming from the northeast. The Mediterranean climate, tempered by the gentle sea breezes and beautiful hillside exposures, is ideal for grape cultivation, leading to the maturation of rich clusters with intense aromas.
The estate is located within an unspoiled natural context, with vineyards surrounded by woods and Mediterranean scrub, ensuring remarkable biodiversity. The management of the vineyards is carried out without the use of herbicides, fertilizers, and treatments with chemical substances, so that the plants can find their natural productive balance and develop greater resilience to pest attacks. Terra della Luna is associated with Vinnatur, an association of winemakers that shares natural and non-invasive methods, both in vineyard management and in the use of winery practices. The building that houses the winery has also been constructed according to the principles of bio-construction, with a photovoltaic system that guarantees energy needs.
In the vineyards of the estate, the classic white grape variety of the Colli di Luni territory is cultivated: Vermentino, which expresses itself at very high quality levels in this area. As for the red grape varieties, two international varieties have been favored: Grenache and Syrah, which are much loved by the estate's owner and have proven to adapt well to the climate and soils of this corner of Lunigiana, rich in predominantly clayey soils.modern oenological culture. The goal is to produce healthy and genuine expressions that reflect the authentic spirit of the vineyard.
