That Boutique-y Whisky Company
That Boutique-y Whisky Company is an English brand specialized in selecting, bottling, and marketing high-end whiskies from around the world. The project began in 2012 thanks to the enthusiasm of Justin Petszaft, Ben Ellefsen, Tom McGuinness, and Joel Kelly, who gave an innovative imprint to the brand that achieved great success in just a few years. The growth was continuous, and in 2018 it invested in the ZX Ventures activity of the important American group AB InBev.
In order to bottle the best whiskies, That Boutique-y Whisky Company collaborates with important Scottish distilleries such as Dailuaine, located in the Speyside region, or Ben Nevis in the Highlands, but also with producers from other countries, including the Finnish distillery Kyro and others located in Japan, the United States, India, New Zealand, Germany, and South Africa. Barley is mostly used as the starting grain, the main ingredient of Scottish whiskies, although rye is also used in collaborations with the United States and beyond. The whiskies can be single malt or blended, and the brand is also dedicated to bottling fine bourbons. The very long aging periods, sometimes exceeding 20 years, take place in various types of wooden casks, including those previously used for the maturation of bourbon or sherry.
The whiskies of That Boutique-y Whisky Company stand out for their extremely high organoleptic quality, which has led to a multitude of awards and recognitions from international critics. The bottles are then labeled with ironic and original illustrations in an unconventional style, created by the young designer and cartoonist from Glasgow, Emily Chappell, who is skilled at always finding a connection related to the distillery in question or the theme of the bottle. Furthermore, the batch numbers affixed to each label indicate the current bottling number of the whisky in question, with each batch edition differing uniquely by some small detail.
