Toro Albalà
The Bodegas Toro Albalá is an Andalusian winery located in the countryside of Cordoba. It was founded in 1922 by José María Toro Albalá, who began to produce and age wines following the ancient traditions of a land always devoted to viticulture. Toro Albalá wines were already famous in the 1930s, as one of the best excellences of the region. The Bodegas was located in the buildings of an old power plant. Thus, the term “Electric” associated with Toro Albalá production was born, which is still used on labels today to remember its origins. The current production follows the oldest customs, handed down from generation to generation, in order to guarantee labels of great value and clear territorial typicity.
In the 1960s, with the arrival of the oenologist Antonio Sanchez, the wines of Bodegas Toro Albalá experienced a new renaissance, which went through a recovery of the oldest traditions, connecting back to the origins of the winery. Thanks to a vast oenological culture, the Bodegas has committed to restoring value to old customs, to propose labels capable of condensing and expressing the history of a noble land. In addition to the classic Fino, it has dedicated itself to recovering and enhancing Amontillado and Pedro Ximénez, two great excellences of extraordinary charm. Thanks to meticulous artisanal care, a rigorous selection of the best grapes, and long aging, the Bodegas has also established itself internationally as one of the most interesting realities of the region.
