Vallein Tercinier

For five generations, the Vallein Tercinier family has been dedicated to the production of Pineau and especially Cognac with an authentic and traditional style. The activity began in 1850 within the municipality of Chermignac, located about 30 kilometers from the city of Cognac, the nerve center of production and the municipality from which the distillate takes its name. The family's presence in the Saintonge area is, however, even older, dating back to before the discovery of the Americas, precisely to 1480, the year in which Robin Tercinier settled in the region. About three centuries later, in 1791, Louis Vallein purchased the Domaine des Forges, the historic home of the distillery, while in 1850 it was the grandson Georges Vallein who started the distillation activity. During the 20th century, Vallein Tercinier's Cognacs began to be distributed worldwide, establishing themselves for their remarkable refinement and elegance. Throughout its long history, the foundation that has always guided the production of the Maison has been to offer the highest quality achievable at an accessible price, a goal still pursued today.

For the production of its Cognacs, the family-run Vallein Tercinier grows grapes mainly of the Ugni Blanc variety within the crus of Fins Bois, Bons Bois, Borderies, Petite Champagne, and Grande Champagne. After the harvest, the bunches are pressed and the must is left to ferment for 2-3 weeks thanks to the intervention of only indigenous yeasts. The subsequent double distillation operation takes place in copper stills, and the precious liquid obtained is aged in Limousin oak barrels for very long periods, sometimes even up to 35 years. The final blending step follows, which is essential to establish the style of each Cognac signed by Vallein Tercinier.

Although the Maison Vallein Tercinier also dedicates itself to the production of Pineau, liqueurs, and wines, the focus of the selection remains Cognac. The range offered is quite wide and includes expressions of irresistible charm, some fresher and more accessible while others more complex and austere.
