Vignalta

The Vignalta winery is the result of a friendship that, in the early 1980s, led Lucio, Paolo, and Luciana to want to engage in winemaking in Arquà Petrarca, in the province of Padua. We are within the Colli Euganei area, a terroir of volcanic origin with a mixed composition, where each plot is capable of giving identity nuances and characteristics. It is Lucio, the soul of the winery, who immediately believed in the potential of this land, opting for pioneering choices that made Vignalta a productive reality that anticipated various practices that later became common among local winemakers. First of all, it was decided to plant high-density vineyards along the highest hillside slopes of the territory, and then to dedicate oneself to environmental sustainability. Vignalta, in addition to following certain practices in the vineyard, was indeed one of the first wineries in Italy to install photovoltaic systems to minimize traditional energy consumption.

Within the Vignalta vineyards, which extend over about 50 hectares of land, various white and red grape varieties are cultivated, including international ones, such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Nero, Syrah, and Chardonnay. The winemaking protocol, both in the vineyard and in the winery, is modern, with a particular focus on the protection of nature and the environment surrounding the vineyards. Among the rows, integrated pest management is practiced, and low-impact environmental pest control treatments are carried out only when conditions for the incubation of fungal diseases occur. The attention in the vineyard leads to high-quality bunches, and thus in the winery the approach is minimalist, aimed at preserving the integrity of the aromas and flavors contained in each berry.
