Vigneti Reale
Vigneti Reale is located in the small municipality of Cellino San Marco, in the province of Brindisi in the deep south of Puglia, the homeland of great wines and oils since the time of Magna Grecia. The Reale family is closely tied to the territory and has been managing its 250 hectares, of which 85 are vineyards, since the early 1900s. Initially, the production was mainly focused on tobacco processing, from leaf to ground for cigarettes, with a small glance at the vines that were exclusively produced for sale to third parties. Subsequently, with the increased demand from the French and Tuscans, whose wines required southern alcoholic strength, interest in viticulture underwent a strong impulse or significant production growth, but it wasn't until the beginning of the 21st century that the winery made a significant leap, deciding to enhance production by focusing on high quality and commercial standards.
In Cellino San Marco, Vigneti Reale grows its grapes of Malvasia Bianca, Malvasia nera, Malvasia Rosata, Primitivo, and Negramaro on sandy – silty soils of reddish color, slightly or moderately calcareous. The harvest is done manually and the activities in the winery are carried out with cutting-edge methods and equipment to achieve modern and elegant results. After alcoholic fermentation, the more structured labels spend a period of 6 – 12 months in barriques placed in Barricaia, precisely, underground, in order to maintain a consistently low temperature that does not alter the aging.
The wines of Vigneti Reale well represent the landscape of the territory of Cellino San Marco, a town that is also the birthplace of Albano Carrisi. This secret of excellence is skillfully handled by the generations that have succeeded each other at the Vigneti Reale estate, thanks to a repetition of traditions passed down from father to son and improved over the last century. A tradition and a family bond that is intended to be highlighted already on the labels, which represent the estate with the Italian garden surrounding it. The excellence and versatility of the aromas that the“Norie”, “Gloria” and “Rudiae” are an integral part of the same song of an entire people, a glance at the Puglia of the sun and good wines.
