Villa Minelli
In the splendid setting of Villa Minelli in Ponzano Veneto, in the province of Treviso, lies the winery of the same name dedicated to the vinification of indigenous grapes and internationally significant varieties. The villa is a complex of buildings that underwent significant renovation in the 1970s to serve as the headquarters of the Benetton group, the owner of the winery. Framed by rows of Merlot and Carménère, this architectural masterpiece originates from a construction dating back to the 17th century commissioned by the Minelli family, who were important merchants from Bergamo at the time, and features a clear use of 17th-century classical architecture, enriched with baroque-style decorative paintings.
The Villa Minelli winery was established in 2006 with the intention of vinifying the grapes from its vineyards and those of two adjacent villas, also located in the municipalities of Ponzano and Villorba, namely Villa Pastega and Villa Persico. The first bottles bear the label date 2012, the first vintage produced, and are youthful, fresh expressions of easy drinking, while maintaining a strong connection to the territory to which they belong, thanks especially to the experience gained over decades by Francesco Serafini, oenologist and farmer with a brilliant winemaking background, as well as the main ambassador of the Treviso terroir in the world.
The offerings of Società Agricola Villa Minelli diversify into numerous qualities of territorial expressions, which still maintain a global appeal: various whites and reds, a Prosecco, and a passito produced only in the best vintages make the Villa's proposal rich and varied, obtaining from the 9 hectares of vineyards the pure tradition of the Marca Trevigiana. Among the expressions, a particularly significant interpretation stands out, namely the selected Merlot, obtained only from vines over 50 years old. In conclusion, Villa Minelli represents a noble and bucolic setting, faithful to the territory but aimed at conquering modern and cosmopolitan tastes.
