"Sorte Sempremai" is a genuine and original expression that comes from an ancient grape of Etruscan origin, the Abrostine. An intense red, pleasantly rough, with great personality, featuring a wild and rich bouquet, where notes of sweet spices and red berries blend with sensations of underbrush and moss.

The Abrostine "Sorte Sempremai" is a true gem for connoisseurs, one of those wines that must be tasted at least once to discover the face of an unknown grape variety. It is an intense red, characterized by somewhat rough tannins that underline its indomitable personality, tied to its wild nature. The Abrostine is an ancient grape variety of Etruscan origin, most likely born from the domestication of a variety of vitis silvestris present in Tuscany, which faced extinction and was courageously and devotedly recovered by Podere Santa Felicita.

The red "Sorte Sempremai" is a pure Abrostine, originating from the small estate Cuna of Federico Staderini. Four hectares of vineyards divided into various plots, cultivated in the heart of Casentino, in the province of Arezzo. This ancient indigenous grape variety has adapted well to a still wild area like the Casentino Apennines and is grown at an altitude of 500 meters, on calcareous, poor, and stony soils. The very cool climate and the presence of significant temperature excursions between day and night, ensure a slow ripening of the grapes with intense and rich aromas. After the harvest and destemming, the grapes undergo carbonic maceration followed by spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in open wooden vats of 5 and 7 hectoliters. The wine then matures for about 18 months in used barriques and is bottled without filtration.

The "Sorte Sempremai" is a red with a straightforward and genuine profile with the ancient taste of good wine from the past and some deliberately rustic traits. It perfectly expresses the peculiar characteristics of the ancient autochthonous variety Abrostine, without altering its truest and most original face. The color is a rather dark ruby red. On the nose, it has an intense bouquet, with aromas of soft spices, ripe red fruit, and dark hints of humus and underbrush. On the palate, it shows a somewhat rough tannic structure, fruity aromas, and lively final freshness.
