ArtisanalAlicante Bouschet '031' Shukhrat Khakimov is a red wine born from the blend of red grapes, produced near Valencia, in the Alicante area. Drink throughout a meal, accompanying savory meat and vegetable dishes
The Spanish biodynamic reality Shukhrat Khakimov & Viticultores presents the Alicante Bouschet ‘031’ Tinto Barrica, a soft and generous red wine, typically Mediterranean. This wine is made from only Alicante Bouschet grapes, a black grape variety belonging to the so-called “tintorie varieties,” a category that groups those grapes characterized by a red pulp color, not just the skin, which translates into very colorful wines. Born at the end of the 1800s from the crossing of Petit Bouschet and Grenache, Alicante Bouschet should not be confused with generic Alicante, which is instead a synonym for Grenache. The labels of the ‘031’ project, which includes wines produced in a handcrafted and non-interventionist manner, are illustrated by Shukhrat Khakimov's son, Teo.
The Tinto Barrica ‘031’ Shukhrat Khakimov Alicante Bouschet originates from only grapes of the same variety cultivated according to the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture. Once harvested, the grapes are vinified in red through a non-interventionist enology based on spontaneous fermentations and no use of additives and enological aids, including sulfites. Once the fermentation process is completed, the mass is transferred to French oak barriques for aging of 17-24 months before the final bottling.
The color of the Alicante Bouschet Shukhrat Khakimov & Viticultores ‘031’ Tinto Barrica is intense ruby red with a garnet rim. The olfactory baggage carries with it hints of red fruits in jam, underbrush, cocoa, and sweet spices. Concentrated and generous on the palate, where the enveloping softness is accompanied by juicy freshness, a pleasant savory component, and ripe tannins. The tasting finish departs on fruity and spicy sensations consistent with the nose.
