Alicante Nero Ampeleia 2022
Artisanal
Unusual grapes
Organic and biodynamicThe Alicante Nero from Ampeleia is a true celebration of flowers, scrub, and aromatic herbs expressed with a graceful and refined style. Ampeleia, a winery founded in 2002 in the heart of Maremma, is a project born with clear ideas and precise intentions, the foremost being to bottle what could be identity expressions while using grape varieties with a Mediterranean personality that have adapted well to the area. The vineyard is indeed primarily composed of allochthonous varieties such as Alicante, Carignano, and Cabernet Franc (the latter present in the area for a longer time) cultivated according to the principles of biodynamics and capable of providing convincing territorial testimonies, uniting the concreteness of Maremma with the warmth of the Mediterranean. All liquids are characterized by elegance and finesse, starting from the delightful everyday wine Unlitro, up to the flagship bottles, more complex and multifaceted. Granite certainty.
The Alicante wine is obtained from pure grapes of the homonymous variety coming from the "Vigna della Pieve," which rests on a sandy soil with the presence of pebbles, located at an altitude of 250 m. In the vineyard, as already mentioned, the principles of sustainable agriculture are followed, in order to enhance the vitality of soil and plants, favoring biodiversity. In the winery, spontaneous fermentation takes place in cement tanks and aging for 6 months in the same containers.
The Alicante Ampeleia fills the glass with its deep and luminous ruby color. Nose of great intensity and warmth, with a strongly Mediterranean character, where descriptors such as thyme, rosemary, aromatic herbs, and bouquets of flowers abound. On the palate, the liquid reveals itself cohesive and measured, exemplary in how it combines aromatic generosity and stylistic precision. Multiforme.
