The Sparkling Brut "Luigi Coppo" is a classic method Alta Langa blanc de noirs, made from Pinot Noir grapes and aged on the lees in the bottle for 30 months. Fresh and delicate fruity and yeast notes animate a dry and lively sip, pleasant and creamy
The Classic Method “Luigi Coppo” produced by the Coppo winery features the name of a key figure in the family history on its label. Strong in his qualities of tenacity and determination, Luigi steered the company out of the muddy waters of the 1948 flood, moving in parallel with the modernization of the winery and the adoption of innovative winemaking techniques.
“Luigi Coppo” is a Classic Method blanc de noirs, crafted through the pure vinification of Pinot Nero grapes from the Canelli area, in the heart of that part of Monferrato that stretches across the slopes of the hills south of Asti and Alessandria and falls within the area of the Alta Langa denomination. The soils, formed from ancient marine sediments compacted into gypsum rocks, covered by a terrain composed of marls and clays, rise to altitudes between 270 and 450 meters above sea level and offer an exposure to the east and west. The agronomic practices follow the principles of environmental respect of integrated agriculture, also applying techniques of biodynamic inspiration. The rather early harvest is done by hand in August, with selection of the grapes and collection in 20-kilogram boxes. After destemming the bunches, a gentle pressing of the berries is carried out, followed by fermentation in steel at controlled temperature, with subsequent malo-lactic fermentation. The aging on the lees lasts for 30 months, following the sparkling process in the bottle, and the final dosage confirms the sparkling wine in the Brut category.
Alta Langa Metodo Classico Brut “Luigi Coppo” presents a bright straw yellow color, streaked with youthful green reflections and a fine effervescence. The aromas are fragrant and intense, characterized by fruity freshness of green apple and warmer, distinctive notes of bread crust and leavening. The sip offers good tension, revealing itself dry and mineral on the palate, with integrated citrus acidity and a creamy effervescence that brings a soft richness. A balanced and delicious sparkling wine, ideal accompaniment to butter and anchovy tartines, or to a crispy fried dish of squid.
