The Amativo Cantele is a red wine with a warm and Mediterranean profile, rich and intense, which well represents the generous and sunny character of Salento. It is a typically territorial wine, made with a balanced blend of the two red grape varieties that symbolize Puglia: Primitivo and Negroamaro. Fruity and delicately spiced, soft and smooth, it is a perfect table companion to accompany beef roasts, mixed grills, grilled meats, or small game on the spit.

The red Amativo from Cantele is the result of the experience of a winery that has been producing wines in the lands of Salento since the 1950s. Today, the estate covers an area of about fifty hectares, cultivated with grape varieties that have been grown in the region for centuries, complemented by some international varieties. The grapes of Primitivo and Negroamaro are the result of a selection from the best vineyards of the estate, still cultivated with the ancient bush or spurred cordon system, on soils composed of clayey calcarenites of Salento, dating back to the Quaternary. The climate is warm and Mediterranean, only mitigated by the constant presence of sea breezes. The harvest begins with Primitivo at the beginning of September, ending towards the end of the month with Negroamaro. The grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks with a maceration on the skins of a couple of weeks, followed by aging in barriques for about a year.

The Amativo wine from the Cantele winery is the quintessence of its terroir. To the eye, it captivates with its dark ruby red color and lively bright reflections tending towards purple. Intense and broad, it offers a bouquet with a very rich aromatic palette, with notes of small dark berry fruits, particularly wild blackberry, black currant, blueberry, plum, hints of soft spices, dark chocolate, bitter cocoa, and roasting. Structured and full-bodied, it has a mature tannic texture enveloped by fruit that gives nuances of berry jam. The finish is harmonious and velvety, fruity and very persistent, with a pleasantly spicy closure.
