The Barbera by Giacomo Fenocchio is a red wine of good structure and intensity, aged in oak barrels. It opens with hints of young fresh fruit, with notes of violet and rose and a slight spiciness on the finish. On the palate, it responds with equal energy: long and balanced flavor

The Barbera d'Alba Superiore by Giacomo Fenocchio is a rich and fruity wine, made in the lands of Langhe with the most representative red grape of the great Piedmontese popular tradition. The Barbera wine has been for centuries the daily table companion of the typical dishes of the local cuisine. Fenocchio's version, thanks to a good period of aging in wood, gives us a face of Barbera that goes beyond the fragrant fruity immediacy. While maintaining the typical varietal profile, it is a red of good structure and complexity, with mature and evolved aromas that enrich the sip with interesting tertiary notes.

The Barbera d'Alba Superiore wine comes from an ancient family of winemakers from the Monforte d'Alba area, which since the 1970s has begun to make a name for itself among enthusiasts for the artisanal character of its wines. Today the estate extends over a total of 14 hectares, with some particularly valuable vineyards in the famous crus of Bussia, Cannubi, and Villero. The vineyards are cultivated with great care, trying to maintain the natural balance of the vines and the right biodiversity between the rows. The vinifications are always very respectful of the raw material, with processes that minimize enological interventions, so as to always keep the varietal character of the grapes in the foreground.

The red Barbera d'Alba Superiore by Giacomo Fenocchio is born in a land now almost exclusively dedicated to the cultivation of Nebbiolo, but where some important Barbera vineyards still survive, capable of producing great wines. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts and a maceration period on the skins of about ten days. The wine then matures for 10 months in Slavonian oak barrels. In the glass, it presents an intense ruby red color with garnet reflections. On the nose, it offers aromas of cherry, small red berry fruits, and delicate spicy nuances. On the palate, it has a good structure, with a fine and delicate tannic texture, a sip with pleasantly juicy and fruity aromas, which precede a persistent finish characterized by a pleasant freshness. The wines of Fenocchio are appreciated precisely for having been able to preserve an authentic and traditional taste, far from trends influenced by international standards.
