"La Tota" is a Barbera d'Asti with a great quality/price ratio that surprises with its full and round taste, its dense and balanced sip, and a bouquet that offers an alternation of ripe plum and oak vanilla. A red wine with remarkable aging: 12 months in French oak barrels from Allier and Troncais of 2nd and 3rd passage

done by hand and the bunches are then carefully selected before soft destemming and crushing. The subsequent alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with 12-15 days of skin maceration, during which delestage and gentle pump-overs are performed. After the complete malolactic fermentation, the wine is then racked into French oak barrels and barriques of Tronçais and Allier, where the aging phase of about a year takes place.

The color of the Barbera d’Asti ‘La Tota’ by Marchesi Alfieri is intense ruby red with purple reflections. From the glass emerge strong notes of ripe plum and berries, reached at the finish by hints of vanilla and oak. Full, dense, and soft on the palate, beautifully balanced, with lively freshness and ripe tannins leading the interesting fruity and spicy persistence.
