Barbera "La Fame" by Marinferno is a red wine from Piacenza with a straight, rustic and territorial sip, vinified in concrete tanks and aged for one year in small oak barrels. The nose reveals notes of forest fruit, earth, rustic hints, hints of spices and touches of wood. The sip has an intense, tasty and good texture, with vibrant freshness.

The Barbera “La Fame” from the Piacenza winery Marinferno is a label that perfectly interprets the history and tradition of the territory with a straightforward and direct red. It is a pure Barbera, which renews the custom of the Colli Piacentini to offer wines with an artisanal face, made with great attention to vineyard work and minimal winemaking practices, to always keep the varietal personality of pure and high-quality grapes in the foreground. The result is a satisfying bottle, with a smooth sip, that brings to mind the good wine of the past, healthy and genuine.

“La Fame” is a Barbera from the Colli Piacentini produced by a young local brand, born from the experience of a historic winery in the Val Tidone. Marinferno cultivates about ten hectares of vines in splendid hilly exposures, at an altitude ranging from 160 to 250 meters above sea level. The wine is produced with Barbera grapes that come from the Vigna Magra, which is located within the Podere Solana. A plot that always gives always gives grapes of particular richness and aromatic intensity. The harvest takes place at full phenolic ripeness, in order to have soft and non-aggressive tannins. The fermentation starts spontaneously with indigenous yeasts and without any temperature control, in cement tanks. The wine matures on the fine lees in small oak barrels for about a year and completes the aging with a few months in the bottle before being put on sale.

The red Barbera “La Fame” Marinferno is the typical wine of the Colli Piacentini area. The grape variety embraces a wide stretch of land, which ranges from Monferrato to Emilia, claiming its gastronomic and everyday vocation. In the glass, it presents a lively ruby red color with bright violet reflections. On the nose, it is characterized by an intense bouquet with exuberant and lively aromas of ripe cherry, red berry fruit, plum, delicate floral hints of violet, and pleasant sensations of soft spices. The sip is juicy, with rich and crunchy fruit. The tannins are fine and well integrated to the body of the wine, which finishes with fragrant and fresh fruity notes. Excellent to drink right away, it improves after a few years of aging in the bottle.
