The Barolo "Bricco delle Viole" by Mario Marengo is an artistic interpretation that is also deeply territorial of this famous cru of Barolo. A Piedmontese red of great personality and expressiveness, characterized on the nose by the legendary aroma of violet with hints of sour cherry, black pepper, licorice, and plum. On the palate, it is juicy, flavorful, with a silky tannin and a long taste persistence

The Barolo "Bricco delle Viole" by Mario Marengo embodies the flavor of the tradition of true winemakers from Langa. The winery is located in La Morra, in the province of Cuneo, with vineyards situated in particularly suited positions to produce high-quality grapes. Mario has inherited the family passion, but also respect for the land, which, especially in these areas, has been a unique source of livelihood for decades. It is no coincidence that the label features the farmhouse in the middle of the fields. The Barolo is also produced according to the rules passed down from generation to generation, with improvements in techniques and a decreasing use of chemicals.

As tradition dictates, "Bricco delle Viole" Barolo is a pure Nebbiolo. The vineyards are within the cru of the denomination "Bricco delle Viole", characterized by soils rich in clay and limestone. Manure is used as fertilizer, and for phytosanitary treatments, copper and sulfur are chosen. In the winery, fermentation is initiated by a pied de cuve and takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. After the wine has also undergone malolactic fermentation, it is transferred to oak barriques where it ages for 24 months before bottling.

The Barolo "Bricco delle Viole" by Mario Marengo presents a very clear garnet red as its calling card. Once poured into the glass, the predominant aromas are floral, with violet standing out. However, fruity aromas intertwine as well, between cherry and plum, expanding into light spicy notes that also touch on licorice. On the palate, it has a very sensual body, it is silky and meaty, endowed with juiciness and finesse. The tannins are well balanced and soft, with a rather long final persistence. This bottle is capable of delivering beautiful emotions whether paired with food or enjoyed alone.
