The Barolo by Marziano Abbona is a red wine with a great quality/price ratio. It ages in wooden barrels for 30 months and gives us an enveloping and fresh sip, supported by a good body and a good intensity of aromas ranging from floral notes of rose and wisteria to sensations of violet and wild violet, finishing with the typical notes of wet earth.

The Barolo by Marziano Abbona is a wine that knows how to converse with the past and the future: a perfect representation of a great red that must be the “King of wines”, a fruit of tradition but also of an elegance and a modern aromatic clarity. A wine without compromises that needs no introduction, just its presence and the excellent quality-price ratio with which it is offered.

The Abbona family, from the historic founder Marziano, then with dad Celso, up to brothers Marziano and Enrico, has been in search of the best plots, even before concepts like terroir and cru emerged, where they could tie the finest grape varieties to the living soil in view of memorable productions. This Barolo is born from the Perno vineyard near Monforte d’Alba, one of the most vocated areas for the production of Nebbiolo grapes for these austere Langhe reds. The Abbona family knows their parcels in depth and treats the grapes intended for the vinification of the best wines with great care.

The Barolo Abbona comes to life from spontaneous alcoholic fermentation in steel tanks, using indigenous yeasts, in contact with the skins for about 30 days, during which continuous pump-overs are carried out. The aging involves 30 months in barrels of 25 hectoliters plus 6 months of resting in the bottle. To the eye, the Barolo Marziano Abbona is ruby red, graced with garnet reflections. On the nose, floral notes of dog rose and wisteria are perceived, fading into sensations of violet, at times balsamic, with a finish of wet earth and tobacco. On the palate, the wine is clear, one could not ask for better, savory, complex, and with a refreshing finish enveloped by a balanced tannin. A wine that tells the tradition and brings memories to life.
