Roberto Voerzio's Barolo Riserva "Fossati Case Nere 10 Anni" is one of the best wines from the La Morra area. It is a label made by a prominent producer in the Langhe wine scene. The grapes come from the vineyards of Cru Fossati and Case Nere, which are located in the southern part of the communal territory of La Morra, bordering that of Barolo. This is a Barolo for connoisseurs and great enthusiasts, which, after a long maturation in wood, is aged for 7 years in Roberto Voerzio's cellars before being marketed. It is a red of extraordinary elegance and finesse, complex and persistent, capable of blending floral notes, fruity aromas and refined hints of tertiary evolution. Already ready to drink, it is a wine with considerable aging potential.
"Fossati Case Nere 10 Anni" Barolo Riserva is a wine born from the passion of a great connoisseur of the Langhe territory. Roberto Voerzio's winery was founded in 1968 around two hectares of vineyards in the commune of La Morra. Today it covers some 20 hectares that include prestigious crus, such as: La Serra, Brunate, Cerequio, Sarmassa, Rocche dell'Annunziata, Fossati, Case Nere. A careful management of the vineyard, allows each year to have rich and intense grapes, which during vinification we try to keep unaltered, intervening as little as possible so as not to change the varietal profile of the wine and the character of the terroir. Precisely to preserve the organoleptic characteristics intact, the wines are bottled without filtration. They are the result of painstaking craftsmanship, perfectly expressing the great vocation of the terroir and the talent of a great vigneron.
Barolo Riserva Voerzio is a great wine of the Langhe, a refined interpreter of the Barolo lands. The vines are grown on the limestone matrix soils of the Fossari and Case Nere cru, at an altitude of more than 300 meters above sea level. Low yields and a strict selection of the best bunches bring only grapes of absolute quality to the winery. Fermentation takes place spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in steel tanks. The wine matures in barriques and large barrels for 24 months, 8 months in steel tanks and completes the long aging process with 7 years in the bottle. In the glass it is garnet red in color. The bouquet gives delicate scents of dried violets and rose petals, aromas of small red fruits, black cherries, soft spices, dark chocolate and leather. The sip is long and deep, with an elegant tannic texture, very complex aromas and a fresh and very persistent finish.
